Boris Ljubičić Honoured with the ICMG Order of Merit
When the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (ICMG) decided to honour renowned Croatian designer Boris Ljubičić with the Order of Merit, MESONI was entrusted with the full creative and production support for this prestigious occasion.
Held in Split, Croatia, the event brought together leading figures from the world of sports.
The BL Award Ceremony in Split was more than a formal tribute, it was a thoughtfully curated multi-day experience that honoured the life, work, and influence of Boris Ljubičić, recipient of the ICMG Order of Merit. MESONI was entrusted with the full creative direction, communication strategy, and production of this prestigious event, ensuring that every element embodied elegance, precision, and meaning.
Online RSVP Platform & Guest Management
MESONI created and managed a fully branded RSVP application to handle guest registration, confirmations, reminders, and final reporting. From setup and structure to follow-up and support, our digital tools ensured a seamless guest experience.
Welcome Gourmet Dinner
An exclusive welcome evening hosted at a seaside restaurant with a panoramic terrace overlooking the Adriatic. Guests were treated to a fine dining experience accompanied by a live DJ set, creating a warm and sophisticated atmosphere for international delegates and guests.
Private Cruise – ICMG Social Program
A custom, designed cruise for the ICMG family, offering a relaxed networking opportunity along the Dalmatian coast. Guests enjoyed scenic views, relaxing coffee to traditional harbor, and lunch on board while sailing around the islands, a Mediterranean moment of connection and culture.
Pre-Ceremony Cocktail
Prior to the ceremony, a cocktail reception was organized on a small terrace overlooking the beach. This picturesque setting provided a warm and informal atmosphere, serving as the perfect opening for socializing and networking among attendees.
Ceremony Production at Villa Dalmacija
We oversaw the full production of the award ceremony held at Villa Dalmacija, Tito’s former summer residence and a protected historical site. The venue’s logistical, heritage, and infrastructure challenges were met with creative solutions, strict coordination, and a respectful approach to conservation protocols. Simultaneous translation was provided in both directions, Croatian to English and English to Croatian, ensuring seamless communication for all guests and participants.
Gala Dinner & Live Performance
The official Gala Dinner was a refined four-course, served experience, held in an elegant setting that reflected the significance of the occasion. The evening was elevated by a live performance from The Four Tenors, whose powerful vocal ensemble offered a memorable cultural highlight. The combination of fine dining and world-class music created an atmosphere of celebration and distinction for all honoured guests.
Visual Identity & Event Branding
Inspired by Boris Ljubičić’s iconic visual language, MESONI developed a cohesive design system that spanned digital and physical materials, from printed programs and signage to on-screen graphics and ceremonial elements.
Multimedia & Tribute Video
We produced original video content for the Anthem of the Mediterranean Games, including a tribute film dedicated to the legacy of the ICMG, which was screened during the event.
Custom Commemorative Gift Design
MESONI designed a bespoke commemorative gift for all attendees, thoughtfully crafted to reflect the spirit of the Mediterranean Games and the visual identity of the ceremony. Special attention was given to size, weight, and packaging to ensure the gift was both elegant and practical—easy for guests to carry and take home by air travel.
Printed Materials & Guest Information Design
MESONI created a complete suite of printed materials to accompany the event, designed in line with the overall visual identity. This included a pre-arrival information guide, the official ceremony program, and a custom-designed dinner menu.
Main Venue: Villa Dalmacija
Navigating the Historic Legacy of Villa Dalmacija
Working at Villa Dalmacija—once the 1914-built guesthouse turned Tito’s summer residence—presented a series of logistical and regulatory challenges that tested our team’s adaptability and attention to detail. As a protected historical asset nestled within Marjan Forest Park, the villa is subject to strict heritage covenants: any structural additions, lighting, or signage require meticulous approval from conservation authorities.
Internal infrastructure is modest and largely preserved in its original state, lacking modern amenities, so essential event facilities such as power, staging, and catering areas had to be ingeniously retrofitted without altering the historic fabric . Moreover, the venue’s exclusivity and privacy mandate complex logistics, everything from equipment delivery to waste removal had to be scheduled through narrow estate access points, with no public support available.
Finally, given the villa's seaside terrace and private dock, plans needed to account for unpredictable weather and tidal conditions, demanding robust contingency measures from our production team. Through strategic planning and collaborative coordination with heritage and municipal bodies, we ensured a respectful, seamless ceremony that honoured both the event’s prestige and the villa’s historic significance.
